Yep - I'm lucky aren't I!
My very own art studio in a heritage train carriage on our beautiful property in Launceston Tasmania.
Thank you for visiting!
I have painted for as long as I remember, focusing predominantly on landscape and still life in oils. Since moving to Tasmania in 2015 I have tried to capture the Tasmanian landscape, creating large works depicting Tasmania’s endless skies and brilliant light.
Growing up in Sydney I won many local exhibitions as a student while learning traditional landscape from artist John Perkins for over 10 years. I also attended the Julian Ashton Art School in The Rocks , Sydney, where I was introduced to to life drawing, a something I continued with artistist, the late John Kibby, when I moved to Cairns in the 1980s.
Art look a backseat for many years while I focused on bringing up 3 daughters but the move to Tasmania has given me more time to focus on my passion. And I do this in a little red train carriage which sits atop a hill on our property near Launceston.
Yes - I am very lucky - for so many reasons. One of which is my brush with cancer earlier this year (2020). I survived with the love and support of so many people, including my McGrath Foundation Breast Nurse, Yvette.
To show my gratitude, I am having a small exhibition at Lofty Homestore in Longford on 13-14 August, with 25% of all sales donated to the McGrath Foundation to support their programs here in Tasmania.
I hope you can attend, and, if you are really keen, please come to our Opening Night on Friday August 12. It is a free event, but numbers are limited, so please grab a ticket by clicking here. Everyone is welcome.
If you don't live in Tasmania, but would still like to assist by purchasing a painting, check back later for your catalogue.
