EVENT MANAGEMENT

Organising an event is a massive job.  Every aspect of the event has to be considered, from the big ticket items such as staging, lighting, sound, fencing, booking entertainers, transport and seating to ticket sales, catering, advertising, ticketing, media releases - even ensuring there are adequate numbers of toilets.

My background of project management extends from large festivals that attract 20,000 people a day, to smaller intimate fundraisers for 50 - 100 people.

No matter the size of your event, I can assist your club or organisation produce a first class event that engages all of your members throughout the planning and organisational stages, through to the big day and the post event evaluation.

Here I am pictured  with Mick Evans (local Cairns promoter) and Rick Fenn from 10CC before the Passion For Life Concert in Fogarty Park Cairns.  The event raised money for ongoing counseling services provided through Lifeline

The Soggy Bottom Cardboard Box Boat Race, Launceston raising money for Tasmanian kids with diabetes. This family fun event has become a much loved annual event.

The annual Carnival on Collins happens every Fathers Day in the streets of Edge Hill Cairns at the Botanical Gardens.  Over 20,000 people flock to the event every year.

Here I am proudly holding an Australia Day award for the best community event for the inaugural Queensland Cancer Fund Relay for Life in which we raised more money that any other Relay for Life in Australia. I reluctantly had to hand it back to the Queensland Cancer Fund after this photo was taken.

This fun run was the starting point to raise funds for a dedicated cancer treatment centre in Cairns.  I am very proud to say that we managed to raise both the funds and awareness to the level that the Federal and State governments came to the party and matched our efforts.  Now the Liz Plumber Centre proudly supports all Far North Queensland cancer patients and their families.
