If I were to describe myself, I would probably call myself driven, passionate, hard-working, and probably a little crazy. 

 

Why crazy? 

 

Well, I moved to Tasmania after a lifetime in the tropics where I organised large outdoor concerts, parades, festivals and carnivals, and have somehow found myself trying to exactly the same thing here - despite the weather! 

 

 Who else would organise a cardboard box boat race and expect people to sail disintegrating cardboard vessels in a lake of freezing Tasmanian water?  That's right - I did - and believe it or not, it was a huge success!

 

My name is Sandy Astill and I live in northern Tasmania with my wonderful, and ever-tolerant husband Brad, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 2 chooks. I have changed careers dozens of times, but each time have ended up back organising community events. I guess  some might say, it's my ‘calling’,

 

The focus of Cause & Affect is to help community and not-for-profit groups organise and run their festivals, fund-raisers, awareness building, conferences and workshops.
